Canadian whisky is a staple around the holidays and Gibson’s Finest wants to help you celebrate with some whisky drink ideas that will keep you cozy all season long.
From a classic like a hot toddy or a whisky sour, to something a bit different like the Gibson’s Apple Pie Old Fashioned, there is a whisky drink idea for every taste.

“Gibson’s Finest is aged for a smoother, richer taste, making for the perfect Canadian whisky to chase away the chill,” David Hudyma, Spirits Specialist with Gibson’s Finest said in a press release.

Gibson’s Winter Sour
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Gibson’s Finest Rare 12 Year Old Canadian Whisky
- 4 oz fresh lemon juice
- 3 oz simple syrup
- 1 oz cranberry juice
- 2-3 dashes cranberry bitters (optional)
- Rosemary sprig
Instructions:
- Mix all ingredients into shaker and shake dry. Add ice and shake again hard. Strain into rocks glass. You should get a small amount of foam even without egg whites.
- Alternatively, add egg whites into the shaker with the rest of the ingredients for a thick foam.
- Garnish with rosemary sprig.
Gibson’s Sterling Hot Toddy
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Gibson’s Finest Sterling Canadian Whisky
- 0.5 oz honey
- 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
- 2-3 oz of hot water to taste
- Cinnamon stick to garnish
Instructions:
- Add all ingredients to a mug and top with hot water. Stir with cinnamon stick.
Gibson’s Holiday Cola
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Gibson’s Finest Bold 8 Year Old Canadian Whisky
- 4-5 ounces of cola, to your preference
- 2-3 drops of vanilla extract
- 1 oz cranberry juice
- Fresh or dry cranberries
Instructions:
- Pour 1.5 oz Gibson’s Finest Bold Canadian Whisky over ice into a tall glass. Add 2-3 drops of vanilla extract to taste. Top with cola, leave room into the glass for cranberry juice. Top with 1oz of cranberry juice. Stir with bar spoon.
- Garnish with cranberries on a swizzle.
Gibson’s Revolving Door
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Gibson’s Finest Bold 8 Year Old Canadian Whisky
- 1.5 oz fresh lemon
- 1 oz maple syrup
- Cinnamon stick
Instructions:
- Mix all ingredients in a shaker over ice and stir well.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
Gibson’s Finest Egg Nog
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Gibson’s Finest Sterling Canadian Whisky
- 4 oz of egg nog
- Cinnamon stick
Instructions:
- Pour all ingredients over ice in a rocks glass or highball. Stir well. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
Gibson’s Apple Pie Old Fashioned
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Gibson’s Finest Rare 12 Year Old Canadian Whisky
- 1 oz pure apple cider
- 0.5 oz simple syrup
- 3 dashes angostura bitters
- Pinch of apple pie spice
- Apple slices
Instructions:
- Mix all ingredients in a shaker over ice and stir well.
- Garnish with apple slices.
