It’s now easier to watch shows and movies not available in Canada on your Apple TV thanks to the new dedicated NordVPN app available for the streaming device.
Apple’s recent update to tvOS 17 finally added third-party VPN support and NordVPN wasted no time getting their app out to customers.

Before the latest tvOS update users would need to manually change their router settings in order to connect to a VPN through the Apple TV. This was a huge drawback from using the Apple TV, which is arguably one of the best streaming devices available.
Along with the ability to connect to servers in 60 countries, including the US, the NordVPN app for Apple TV will also protect you from online snooping even from your ISP.

“Users often forget that mobile phones and computers are not the only gateways to your network for cybercriminals. A smart TV is usually connected to the internet, so it can also be hacked, and cybercriminals can spy on users, steal data, or even try to access other devices on the home network,” Vykintas Maknickas, head of product strategy at NordVPN, said in a press release.
“A dedicated VPN app for Apple TV will allow our users to ensure cybersecurity and protect their privacy. Moreover, a VPN can even improve the streaming experience by increasing users’ privacy.”
