There’s a feature-length documentary on country musician June Carter Cash coming to Paramount+ Canada this month.
June Carter Cash was a five-time Grammy Award-winning singer, comedian, musician, actor and author. She co-wrote the song ‘Ring of Fire’, opened for Elvis (there’s even a scene in the movie Elvis of this), and also appeared onscreen with Robert Duvall and Jane Seymour.
Directed by Kristen Vaurio (Going Clear: Scientology & the Prison of Belief), the doc, appropriately titled June, features rare and never-before-seen material with Carter Cash as well as interviews from family and friends, including Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and Reese Witherspoon, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of Carter Cash in the 2005 Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line.
