Konstantinos Christou of Markham is extra ‘merry’ after winning a MERRY MILLIONS prize worth $50,000 in the January 9, 2024 draw.
Konstantinos, a husband, father and grandfather, said he’s been a regular lottery player for many years, and this is his first big win.
“I bought a ticket when the clerk suggested this new game,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre to pick up his winnings. “When I checked my ticket at the store and saw all the zeros, I felt like my eyes popped out of my head!”
Konstantinos shared the news with his wife over coffee.
“I brought her some INSTANT tickets to play, and she noticed the slip from the store. Her birthday was coming up in a few days, so when she asked if I won $50,000 – I said, ‘Happy birthday!’ She was shocked!”
“It was such a blessing mixed with disbelief. Ever since we found out we have been happy making our plans on how to enjoy this win.”
Konstantinos took his family out to celebrate with a nice steak dinner.
“I might treat my wife to something sparkly for her birthday. I hope to plan a fun adventure with her so we can experience some things that are on our bucket list,” he concluded.
