Icelandic airline PLAY is having a leap year deal on flights to European destinations, including Iceland, London, Ireland and France.
The deal offers Canadian customers 20 per cent off select flights booked until March 1, 2024. The flights depart from John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport in Hamilton, Ontario, and travellers can book the discounted fare for travel dates between April and May 2024, and from September to December 2024.
Travellers also have the chance to pick between three different vacation bundles: Basic, Value, and Flex.
The Basic bundle allows travellers to add one personal item to their booking at a low cost, the Value bundle adds one personal item along with a checked bag, a carry-on bag, and priority boarding in the middle and back selection.
The Flex bundle includes everything in the Value bundle, as well as the choice of seating anywhere on the plane and the ability to change flight dates without additional fees.
PLAY recently announced that flights to Croatia would be launching in May and that customers can now have extended stopovers in Iceland at no additional cost.
What is a leap year
A leap year only happens every four years in order for the calendar year to match the solar year, which is how long it takes the Earth to make a trip around the Sun. This means there is an extra day in February and a total of 366 days for the year.
