Canadians will soon have 10 million more reasons to play Lotto Max as the maximum jackpot is set to increase to $80 million later this year.
When Lotto Max began in 2009 the maximum jackpot was $50 million. It increased to $60 million in 2015, and then to its current $70 million maximum in 2019.

While the increase to $80 million is welcomed, it’s still a far way off from the massive Mega Millions or Powerball jackpots in the U.S.
The first draw allowing for the bigger jackpot size will be on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
There will be no change to the cost to play Lotto Max and the lottery will still offer Maxmillions prizes when the jackpot hits $50 million.
