There’s a new Disney Cruise Line ship coming that will draw from Disney’s epic tales of heroes and villainy as inspiration.
Sharing similar design styles with sister ships Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, the Disney Destiny will use familiar stories, characters and themes to forge a cruise vacation that will leave a memorable impression on its passengers.
The ship, inspired by the duality of many great Disney, Pixar, and Marvel stories where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise above, reached a construction milestone recently with a keel laying ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

The guests onboard Disney Destiny will encounter heroes and villains from beloved Walt Disney Animation stories like The Lion King, Hercules, and many others. The whole experience at sea will no doubt be thrilling and entertaining.
One of the showcases of the Disney Destiny will be the bow artwork, which these ships are known for. It will depict Minnie Mouse striking a heroic pose as she leads the ships guests on their destinations.
“The Disney Destiny will celebrate our most legendary Disney stories and characters, bringing them to life in new and exciting ways exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests,” Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager at Disney Cruise Line, said in a release.
Disney Destiny is scheduled for delivery in 2025 and is part of a multi-year expansion of the cruise line fleet that, along with Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, will also involve the Disney Adventure with its homeport based in Singapore, and new island destinations in The Bahamas.
