These are the December 2023 home releases we highly recommend checking out if you missed them.
South Park (Not Suitable for Children) (Paramount+ Canada)
South Park (Not Suitable for Children) was an unannounced special that rips into online influencers (especially Logan Paul), OnlyFans, energy drinks and companies secretly advertising to children. It’s an extremely over-the-top special that is also absolutely brilliant. South Park (Not Suitable for Children) premiered on Paramount+ Canada on December 20.
Saltburn (Prime Video Canada)
Don’t be fooled by the marketing for Saltburn because it is not a comedy! It is a dark, unsettling movie with a few truly disturbing scenes. It does have some great performances though, and there is something about it that’s mesmerizing to watch (similar to The Talented Mr. Ripley). Saltburn arrived on Prime Video Canada on December 22.
What If…? – Season 2 (Disney+ Canada)
The second season of What If…? was a much more entertaining experience than the first season, and if you’ve been on the fence to watch it it’s definitely worth checking out. Disney+ Canada dropped all the episodes for What If…? season two daily between December 22 and 30.
Ricky Gervais: Armageddon (Netflix Canada)
While not as funny as his previous stand-up special, SuperNature, fans of Ricky Gervais will find a lot of laughs in Armageddon. Ricky Gervais: Armageddon premiered on Netflix Canada on December 25.
Sound of Freedom (Prime Video Canada)
Forget the controversary surrounding Sound of Freedom and watch it solely as a movie and it might shock you at how well made it is. It doesn’t matter whether any of it is true or if the people portrayed are good or bad, it’s an important story that will open your eyes to the horror of child-trafficking. Sound of Freedom was released on Prime Video Canada on December 26.
