Alan Slote of Hamilton can “find his possible” after winning a LOTTO 6/49 prize worth $1 million in the Gold Ball Draw on November 22, 2023.
“This is my first big win,” shared Alan while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I usually play LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX on grocery shopping days, which is twice a week. I’ve been playing for over 30 years.”
The 80-year-old retiree says he was on his regular grocery run when he was checking his tickets and discovered his big win. “My wife was loading up the groceries and I quickly called her over to double check the win. Our jaws dropped,” he recalled. “It took me so long to process this. I wasn’t able to process all the zeroes. We were both very emotional.”
Alan plans to purchase a new car, share his win with family and make donations with his windfall.
“This is a huge blessing and an unreal moment,” Alan said.
LOTTO 6/49 offers players a chance to win two multi-million dollar jackpots every Wednesday and Saturday, for the same $3 per play.
The Classic Draw offers a fixed $5 million jackpot for every draw, while the Gold Ball Draw guarantees a $1 million prize, or the growing jackpot that starts at $10 million and can exceed $60 million.
The winning ticket was purchased at Fortinos on Dundurn Street in Hamilton.
