After Scream put life back into the horror movie genre in the ’90s, there were a lot of similar titles released where a group of teens or young adults who were knowledgable about horror movies were stalked and killed one-by-one.
One of these was 1998’s Urban Legend, starring Jared Leto, Alicia Witt, Rebecca Gayheart, Joshua Jackson, Tara Reid and Robert Englund.

Based around scary urban legends where people end up being killed in brutal ways, Urban Legend executed its premise much better than I Know What You Did Last Summer, which was released the year before, and was generally a more enjoyable and fun movie to watch.
On Set Cinema is hosting a special screening of Urban Legend on November 15, 2024 at the University of Toronto, specifically in the Junior Common Room at 15 King’s College Circle where the movie was actually filmed!
According to On Set Cinema, the room, which was built in the 1920s, looks the same as it did when the movie was filmed there.
Along with the special screening, Diabolos Coffee Bar, which was featured in the movie, will be open and serving drinks. Everyone attending will also get a pack of Pop Rocks and a Pepsi (if you’re a true Urban Legend fan you’ll know why), and there will be a walking tour around campus to see other filming locations.
If you’re interested in attending this awesome horror movie experience, tickets are on sale now for $35 USD ($10 USD for current UofT students). To purchase tickets and for more information about the event, visit myershousenc.com.
