Wondering what to watch on streaming services in Canada this week? Then check out some new movies and TV shows available to stream in Canada for the week of August 14 – 20.
VOD
A few big titles from earlier this summer are streaming in Canada on VOD services this week.
The Jennifer Lawrence sex comedy No Hard Feelings (trailer above) arrives on VOD services August 15, along with Disney-Pixar’s Elemental. Some other recent VOD additions you might have missed include Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Insidious: The Red Door and Wes Anderson’s latest, Asteroid City.
Amazon Prime Video
It’s slim pickings streaming on Amazon Prime Video in Canada this week with Nic Cage’s vampire flick Renfield being the biggest draw on August 17. The Super Mario Bros. Movie arrived last week in case you missed it.
Apple TV+
Besides new episodes of Physical (Season 3) and The After Party (Season 2) on August 16, and Foundation (Season 2) on August 18, Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie (August 18) is the only new release on Apple TV+ this week (it is the 50th Peanuts TV special). If you missed the Apple TV+ movie The Beanie Bubble a few weeks ago it’s worth a watch.
Crave
Crave also doesn’t have much to offer this week. A new episode of And Just Like That… (Season 2) drops on August 17 with episodes of Minx (Season 2) and Billions (Season 7) arriving on August 18. Some recent titles added to the streaming service you might want to check out include She Said and 65, starring Adam Driver.
Disney+
A new episode of Only Murders in the Building (Season 3) on August 15 is all that’s coming to Disney+ Canada this week that’s worth mentioning.
Netflix
The documentary Depp V Heard premieres on Netflix Canada on August 16. Other recent titles streaming include the 1996 slasher, Scream, and Will Ferrell’s Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (which is one of Christopher Nolan’s favourite movies apparently).
Free services
Jessica Alba’s Honest Renovations streams on The Roku Channel for free on August 18, and if you haven’t caught David Cronenberg’s latest film, Crimes of the Future, it’s available to stream on the free service Kanopy.
