Say good-bye to The Source as you know it as 165 locations across Canada are being rebranded as Best Buy Express. The other locations will be closed later this year, according to The Globe and Mail.
Bell Canada, who owns The Source, made the deal with Best Buy in order to update the stores to offer the latest consumer electronics as well as exclusive telecommunications services from Bell, Virgin Plus and Lucky Mobile.

The small Best Buy Express format will offer customers an “easy-to-navigate experience” where they can test products in person and talk with a sales associate.
Most of the 165 locations of The Source being rebranded can be found in malls across the country.
“We’re excited to collaborate with Bell on this unique venture to expand Best Buy’s presence to new communities across the country. We’re very proud of our store experience and these updated small stores are sure to appeal to new and existing Best Buy customers,” Ron Wilson, President of Best Buy Canada, said in a release.
Best Buy Express is expected to take over The Source in the second half of 2024.
