Trainspotting is getting a 4K Blu-ray Criterion Collection release with limited edition glow-in-the-dark packaging!
Based on Irvine Welsh’s 1993 novel, Danny Boyle’s 1996 adaptation was not only a groundbreaking movie at the time, becoming a huge hit in North America, but also helped launch the careers of Boyle and star Ewan McGregor.

About a group of heroin addicts in Scotland, the style and soundtrack for the film have made Trainspotting stay relevant 28 years later and it is highly regarded as one of the best films of the ‘90s.

Features on Criterion’s Trainspotting 4K Blu-ray release
Along with the limited edition glow-in-the-dark packaging, the Criterion 4K Blu-ray release of Trainspotting includes the following features:
- New 4K digital restoration of the uncut version of the film, supervised by director Danny Boyle, with 2.0 surround DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack
- One 4K UHD disc of the film presented in Dolby Vision HDR and one Blu-ray with the film and special features
