If you’re a Canadian who likes sunny beaches and is also a space nut, Florida’s Space Coast wants you to visit them this spring.
Along with its 115 kilometre coastline that’s perfect for surfing or just lounging, Space Coast offers camping adventures, cruise departures from Port Canaveral, the second-busiest cruise port in the world, and the potential chance to see a rocket launch!
“Spring is a spectacular time to visit the Space Coast, which offers one-of-a-kind experiences like the Kennedy Space Center, the Brevard Zoo, and of course our picturesque beaches,” Peter Cranis, Executive Director of the Space Coast Office of Tourism, said in a release.
“With the rising frequency of rocket launches, there’s a good chance you’ll see one of those amazing feats during your time here — maybe even right from the beach.”
A quick drive from the Orlando International Airport, the Space Coast has a lot of events happening over the next few months, including the Ron Jon Beach ‘N Boards Fest from March 6 – 10 and the East Coast Dog Surfing Festival on March 31, which happens to be Easter Sunday.
The Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is also located nearby where visitors have the chance to see over 1500 species of plants and animals and also hike, bike, boat, fish or hunt.
