You’ll soon have another way to purchase lottery tickets in Ontario as the OLG is starting to add lottery vending machines at select locations across the province.
The machines allow a user to purchase Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49, PROLINE, and select Instant scratch tickets, as well as Ontario 49, Lottario, Daily Keno, Pick-2, Pick-3, Pick-4, and Daily Grand tickets.
Originally announced in 2022, the OLG plans to install over 1,400 of the self-serve machines across the province. We reached out the OLG to confirm how many machines will be available upon launch and where they will be located. We did not hear back in time of writing.

“OLG is embracing innovative, self-serve technology to deliver safe, secure, and convenient access to our popular lottery tickets,” Duncan Hannay, OLG’s President and CEO, said in a release in 2022.
“Expanding and growing our lottery business is part of our plan to continuously improve the customer experience and deliver innovative gaming experiences for players while creating value for the Province of Ontario and our retail partners,” Hannay added.
The machine requires photo identification in order to confirm the age of a customer, and only accepts debit and credit cards.
An employee at a store in Guelph, Ont. where one of the machines is currently being installed told us that staff will have a FOB that can shut the machine down if they see someone under age attempting to use it.
