VOD
Titles coming to VOD services this week include the horror film Piglady on August 22, the crime-thriller Mob Land, starring John Travolta and Stephen Dorff, on August 25, and the comedy Bank of Dave.
Amazon Prime
The romantic drama Beautiful Disaster (August 25) is the biggest title coming to Amazon Prime Video Canada this week. Based on the Jamie McGuire book of the same name, it stars Dylan Sprouse (Riverdale) and Virginia Gardner (Fall) as college students with a complicated relationship. If you missed the premiere of Renfield last week it’s a fun (albeit gory) watch.
Apple TV+
Coming to Apple TV+ this week is the second season premiere of Invasion on August 23 and the four-part docuseries Wanted: The Escape Of Carlos Ghosn on August 25. There’s also new episodes of Physical (Season 3) and The After Party (Season 2) on August 23, and Foundation (Season 2) on August 25.
Crave
Two new documentaries arrive on Crave this week. Subjects of Desire (August 21) is a look at the shift in beauty standards toward Black female aesthetics and features, and BS High (August 23), which tracks the origins of a fabricated high school.
Disney+
Along with a new episode of Only Murders in the Building (Season 3) on August 22, the new Star Wars series Ashoka premieres on August 23. And if you enjoyed the 2021 John Cena film Vacation Friends, Vacation Friends 2 begins streaming on August 25. The Big Short returns to Netflix Canada on August 23, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 arrives on August 24 and the new Adam Sandler film You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah premieres on August 25.
